Permanent, stable, life-like teeth are now possible with All on Four…
The All on Four Implants technique has revolutionised the way dentists use dental implants. Using far fewer implants than previous methods, it provides people with secure, permanent teeth in a short period of time. Dental implants are considered the gold standard for those with missing teeth, providing many benefits.
Many of us have found ourselves in the situation where we no longer have our natural teeth. Accidents, age, illness or medications are all reasons why we might have lost some or all of our teeth.
Up until now, if you were on the lookout for a replacement for your missing teeth, your dentist would recommend partial or full dentures. For some, this would suffice, while others found them annoying, uncomfortable or too unstable to wear. If this were the case, your dentist would then recommend dental implants.
Past methods using implants
Of course, implants are not cheap, but before the All on Four procedure, the procedure was exorbitantly expensive: the patient would be given anywhere up to 10 implants (and sometimes more) for both upper and lower jaw. This was not only expensive, but required a lot of surgery – and a lot of healing time. It did the job though, and the bonus was that implants keep your bones strong and healthy. (Without implants or natural tooth roots, the bone waste away or ‘resorbs’).
Fewer implants with All on Four (or All on Six)
The All on Four is the very best option for those with missing teeth or those with badly deteriorated teeth that must be removed. And, if an individual has been told they don’t have adequate dense bone tissue for implants, often the All on Four is still possible.
With the All on Four, the technique is far more efficient, requiring only four implants to support the entire arch for the lower jaw. For the upper jaw, however, six implants may be required (All on Six) due to the poor bone quality in the maxilla. This is still less than the previous system that could require up to 10 implants for the upper jaw.
Benefits of dental implants (in general)
Whether you’re having the All on Four or Denture Connect Plus, any procedure where you secure your denture with implants offers the following benefits:
- No more loose dentures
- Enjoy improved nutrition by being able to eat a greater variety of foods
- Improved speech
- No more mouth sores or ulcers
- No more denture adhesive
- Prevents your jawbone from shrinking (bone resorption)
Benefits of the All on Four
In addition to the above benefits of dental implants, the All on Four (or All on Six) offers the following benefits:
- A permanent solution – the device is not removable
- Fewer implants than traditional dental implant techniques are required
- Fast – the entire procedure takes under three days
- Reduced surgery time (& recovery time) as only four implants are required
- Reduced cost compared to traditional procedures requiring eight or 10 implants
- Better fit and comfort
Is this the same as your Dentures Connect Plus system?
No, Dentures Connect Plus is different again.
At Dentures Plus, we also offer an optional procedure to the All on Four: the Dentures Connect Plus System. This system is unlike either the traditional implant system or the All on Four.
Put simply, Dentures Connect Plus gives those without teeth more stability than conventional dentures, but at a lower cost compared to the All on Four.
With Dentures Connect Plus, we use very few implants (only three implants are required for the lower jaw) and provide you with a removable implant-supported denture. This is convenient for those that wish to remove their denture whenever they please – and, again, it is significantly less expensive than the All-on-4.
However, it is not ideal for those that want the optimal amount of implants to retain bone density (although the few implants that are placed to help) or for those uncomfortable the idea of removing their dentures and having the stigma of occasionally appearing with no teeth.
